About

History

NH4 was founded by the chief inspector of the Aldershot Police Force who had previously run with a Hash chapter in Hong Kong.  The inaugural run was held on Good Friday in 1981 at the Rowhill Nature Reserve, Aldershot, a location from where we have had many great runs since.  The initial group who ran that day was composed of an eclectic bunch of individuals including members of the local police force, the Royal Military Police, and a contingent of Venture Scouts from the 2nd Aldershot Scout Group.

In these early days, we mostly ran in the beautiful immediate countryside surrounding Aldershot, after which we repaired back to our "local", The Wheatsheaf, which sadly closed down a few years back. Since that inaugural run on 17 April 1981, we have been continuously running every Sunday, bar Covid lockdown, within the wider local area.  We are still going strong some 40+ years later, an achievement indeed.

Who we are

NH4 meet on Sundays at 6.00pm in summer and 11:00am in winter. NH4 is a non-competitive trail-running group, open to all ages and levels of fitness. Our trails are usually about an hour long and within OS Map 186 (Aldershot & Guildford); followed by drinks at a nearby pub. See Run List page for details.
